Puberty 102 for Teen Girls: 5/22/2021
The Period might mark the end of a sentence, but it doesn’t mark the end of adolescent development. In fact, in many ways, it’s just the beginning. Adolescence is a roller coaster of emotions and change.
This class is geared toward girls ages 14-18. We will discuss sensitive topics such as menstrual concerns (heavy periods, using tampons, other options for use during your period), birth control use and options, and safe sexual practices. We will touch upon sexually transmitted illnesses and the concept of “your body is your temple.” We will also have an open discussion about cyber-bullying and social media.
Please understand the importance of the “no holds-barred” nature of this class. The girls will be permitted to ask any questions and I will answer them openly and honestly. This class is not for everyone, but it is extremely important for girls to be informed about these topics so that they may safely navigate adulthood! (And don’t worry, there will be a class coming for boys too!)
This is a NO JUDGEMENT ZONE class! Your girls will be asked to sign a No Judgement Agreement when they arrive and we will discuss this at the start of the class.
Because of the sensitive topic and the need for an open discussion, it is recommend your child attend without a guardian. Parents will be provided with a class summary and follow up handbook.
This class will be limited to ten attendees. Masks required for the duration of the class.
